Michael Cui is a Certified Public Accountant with over a decade of experience in public accounting, taxation, and corporate finance. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Finance), a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, and a Master of Business Taxation from the University of Southern California.

He began his career at a regional CPA firm in Los Angeles, advising small business clients on tax planning and compliance. He later moved into the startup world, building accounting systems from the ground up and scaling financial operations to support rapid growth. From there, he took on Controller roles at more established companies in healthcare, gaming, and SaaS, where he led financial operations, implemented process improvements, and provided strategic planning support.

Driven by a passion for empowering business owners and leaders, Michael founded Blue Ledger Advisors to deliver high-quality accounting, controllership, and tax planning services. The firm works with small businesses that need affordable, full-service financial support, as well as mid-sized companies seeking senior-level controllership expertise without the cost of a full-time hire.

Having worked with owners and executives across industries and growth stages, Michael understands the pressure of balancing resources with the need for sound financial decisions that drive sustainable growth. He believes that strong financial management — whether helping a founder launch their first venture or steering the finances of a multi-million organization — is the foundation of long-term success.

Michael is based in Seattle, WA. Outside of work, he enjoys the outdoors and playing poker.
